What Is the Notice Period for Cancellation?

Your notice period depends on the package you're on — here’s how it works

You can cancel your Intelligent Payroll service at any time — but your notice period depends on your package and agreement.

We’ve made this as straightforward as possible, with clear terms based on how you work with us.

✅ Standard Notice Period (Most Clients)

Most clients are on a monthly rolling contract, which means:

  • You can cancel at any time

  • A 30-day written notice is required

  • There’s no long-term tie-in, unless otherwise stated in writing

📦 Package-Based Terms

Here’s how notice periods work depending on your selected package:

Essential Package

  • Monthly rolling contract

  • 30 days’ notice required

  • If notice isn’t given properly, we’ll either:

    • Process your next payroll, or

    • Bill you for the next month’s invoice in lieu

All-in-One Package

  • Monthly rolling contract

  • 30 days’ notice required

  • Same rules apply if notice isn’t given correctly

  • ⚠️ If we process employee or HMRC payments for you, your contract:

    • Is a 12-month agreement, aligned to the tax year

    • Still requires 30 days’ notice

    • May incur remaining contract fees if cancelled early

Premium Package

  • 12-month fixed-term contract

  • 30 days’ notice required

  • Early cancellations may result in remaining fees being due

📅 Contracts Tied to the Tax Year

If we make payments on your behalf, your service is likely aligned to the UK tax year (ends 5 April) for compliance and reporting reasons.

  • You can still cancel at any time with 30 days’ notice

  • But you may be billed for remaining fees through the contract term if you leave early

🧊 Cooling-Off Period (New Clients)

If you've just signed up, you’re entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period.
You can cancel with no penalty unless:

  • Payroll has already been processed

  • Services have already been delivered (activating standard notice terms)
